CRC error

Folks:

I am trying to copy a large (1 Gig) file from a DVD to my hard drive.

First I tried Windows Explorer and came down with the CRC (Cyclic
Redundancy Check) error.

Then I tried XCOPY /V and ran into the same problem: File Creation Error -
Data Error (Cyclic Redundancy Check)

* Can someone throw some light on this issue

Thanks,
Jo.

Is the file corrupt on the DVD? What file is it, what is the file extension?
Can you open or access the file directly on the DVD? What happens if you do?

Check the DVD for dirt, finger prints, etc. Try cleaning the DVD, if you
still get the error the DVD is bad.

Means you have an error or smudge on your CD and it can't be read.

I'd of suggested trying a dos window, but you already have.

Good time to check out Isobuster http://www.isobuster.com/
and or wash your CD with dish soap and dry well.

Seems the DVD is dirty or scratched causing read errors.Try cleaning
your DVD disc.
