Cutting & Pasting Pages Formatting Problem

I'm trying to create a site using FP2003 ... Someone created my main indext
page using HTML script, and I downloaded it onto FP in order to cut and paste
the template, and simply adjust the content. However, when I cut and paste,
the formatting on the page changes, and the frames from the Index do not
extend to fill the screen on the pages I create. Thus, clicking on the
various links will result in some pages having header frames that are longer
or shorter than the original.

How do I correct this within FP in order for all my pages within the site to
look uniform?

Your images you're using to replace the template's images must be the same
size (dimensions).

What, exactly are you cutting/pasting?

The index page (and two others) were created using pure HTML script by a
friend.

I wanted to add additional pages to the site, and wanted to keep the same
look/layout that was already created, so I attempted to simply cut and paste
the entire index page onto a new blank page using FP2002. (Headers, banners,
links, the whole 9-yards) ... I simply changed the text fields to reflect
whatever i wanted on that particular page. (This is largely an informational
site)

The result works fine. After hyperlinking everything, the site is fully
operational, however the pages that I created by pasting the Index to a blank
page, do not fit the browser window. Its like they have been shrunk, so that
there is a gap at the top of the page b/w the Header and the browser window
(you just see white space) and the same is happening b/w the browser window
and the right hand side of the page.

I hope this is clearer. I did it this way because I was not sure how to
create a new page(s) for a site while keeping a uniform look, since all I
want to do is basically change text content.

Try creating a new blank website in FP, then Import the files/image/pages
that your friend created for you into the FP web...this may be easier for
you.

I just tried that, and it does not work.

It wont even let me import the files, saying "A web already exists at
C:\....."

I have the files saved on my computer, because I have edited their content a
number of times, and I publish them using FP2002.

Basically, if I have an index page that has the exact layout that I want for
the rest of my site, how can I replicate that page over and over and over
again, with the ability to edit its content for each copy, without losing any
of its formatting?

Open FP
File | Open Web
import that index page into your open web - but rename it something like
template.htm, then just use it to create new pages each time only do a Save
As and remember to rename it. You could create an actual template file but
thats more trouble than its worth, imo.
