I can not copy/cut paste document from folder onto
desktop! The paste command is greyed out. I can copy to
different locations via DOS, but I think i prefer just
dragging stuff around with a mouse...is it a registry
problem, or...?

The Blaster worm. Have you run a virus scan on the computer with the latest
updates? Got a firewall? Installed all the critical updates and patches from
Microsoft Update?

Try downloading Stinger and running it:
http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/

If all that is clear try using a different mouse.

What Virus scanner do you recommend ?
We currently use Vet.
