Customizing slide transitions

I would like to have the slide1 fade or dissolve into a word and fade out
into slide2. I would like the slide to more or less transform to the word,
not focus in on one word within the slide. Is there any way to do this?

Did you try create a 3rd slide with the word, between your actual slides 1
and 2?
Or can you be more specific on what you really want to do?

I would like slide1 to fade into a word, let's say 'print' and from there go
into slide2.

During the slide show between each slide you would see 'print' between them.
I was hoping to use it between different subjects.

Broken down explain slide1 which dissolves down into 'print' having slide1
be the text color for 'print'. Which changes into slide2, still having just
'print' showing with text color as slide2, then dissolves up into all of
slide2.
