customizing IE toolbar

I can not keep changes made to IE toolbar, I customize
the toolbar to settings I prefer, but when computer is
restarted IE goes back to how it was, I have been on
with HP tech suport all day with no solution, so far
these are the steps that have been taken, ran up to date
spyware program, ran anti virus(deep scan) reset EI to
default settings uninstalled and reinstalled EI, all
things I have tried or have been asked to try from HP
suport has failed, anyone have any suggestions

Don't know for sure but maybe...

Tools>internet options>advanced Checkbox Enable third party browser
extensions... make sure that is UNchecked.

It sounds like maybe some spyware, perhaps badly installed so not working
properly...

Not all spyware detection works with all spyware... you may have to try some
choices... here are a few.

Please do wait for other replies just in case someone can hit the problem
first shot.

upon reviewing other post on this subject the problem has
been solved removing autokit,exe from startup solved the
problem
