I have a user (Outlook/Exchange 2003) that relies on their Unread Mail folder
to view all of their mail. We are having a problem with items from the SPAM
folder showing up in Unread Mail. To remedy this, we right clicked the
Unread Mail folder and selected Customize this search folder, clicked the
Browse button and selected ONLY the Inbox and subfolders. When we click Ok,
the SPAM items are filtered out and only the appropriate unread mail items
are shown. Much to my chagrin, not an hour or two later, items from the SPAM
folder were once again showing up in Unread Mail. If we check the setting
under Customize this search folder, they are set to Inbox and subfolders and
when we click Ok, the SPAM is filtered out again only to return later.

Any ideas? Anyone?

Thanks Jocelyn. Most of the tips on that KB didn't seem to pertain to my
situation. Do you think the /cleanfinders option would work? In essence, wipe
out the filters then re-create them?

It's worth a try...I have several "inactive" Search Folders that have simply
not been accessed in a while, so when I do access them they have to reindex
everything then to become active again. I never seem to have any problems
with this.
