Customize - Stay Put

When I customize the toolbars in Word, it works fine until I shut down the
computer When I restart the computer the toolbars are back to just their
default toolbar options...all of my customize changes are gone.

Now one step clearer: I dont change the entire toolbar. I add one or two
buttons to the end of a toolbar. Then they disappear. For example, if I add
the Enveolopes and Labels button to the standard toolbarit will stay on the
toolbar until the next computer restart.

One more wrinkle: the customized buttons that I have added to Excel or
PowerPoint, not a problem. They stay put!

Any thoughts?
