Customize send toolbar

I'm using Outlook 2003 with Word as my email editor.

I'd like to be able to customize the toolbar that appears when I write a
message - it contains Send, the Attachment icon, Address book, Check names
etc. - but when I right-click it "Customize" is unavailable. (For what it's
worth, the main reason I want to customize it is that I want to separate the
Send button and the Attachment icon - several times I've clicked Send when I
was aiming to add an attachment.)

Can it be done? And if not and I have to create my own custom toobar, can I
remove the default one?

Thanks for any thoughts.

Yes, it can be done. If you look on view, toolbars, customize when in an compose message window, is it disabled there also?

Diane,

Thanks for your blindingly quick response.

I can get into Customize via View as you suggest, but when I do the toolbar
in question disappears from the screen and also isn't listed among the
toolbars in the Cistomize window...

Giles.

Dear Dianne,
I have a similar need to modify the send button on the toolbar while in the
"Compose message" window. My "View-Toolbars-Customize" option is disabled.
How can it be enabled? (BTW, the "View-Toolbars-Customize" option is enabled
when I'm in the "Inbox" window.)

Dear Dianne,

Also should add that:
1/ I have renamed my outlook ocd file and had outlook create a new one,
thinking it might be caused by an add-on. Didn't change anything.
2/ I can uncheck the tool bar that contains the Send Button, but as soon as
I reopen Outpook from scratch, the toolbar is reactivated and the send button
is visible.
3/ Ultimatley, what I want to do is force outlook to ask me what account I
want to send the pending e-mail message from. If I delete the send button,
then I'm forced to go to "File-Send Using" and select the appropriate account.
How can I make this work?
Thx,
Jim
