Customize Root XP Folders?

J

John Boyd

I have a problem with my Root folders appearing as a
picture folder. I have even lost my functionality of it
being a regular file and document folder. For some reason
that I am unaware of it has changed and I am not able to
change it back. If I right click on the hard disk or open
the disk contents up on my C:\ drive all I get are the
properties of that hard disk. No customize features. If I
wanted to customize a folder within my hard disk it is
fine it works. But the fact of removing this
customization on my root folder is practically impossible
from what I have been trying to do. Is there any
regestry trick to fix this?? It also appears the same on
all other drives on my computer. All root folders of the
disk reverted to a photo folder of a sort.

Hi John,
The best way of resolving this would be to open up any explorer window and
click on tools>folder options and flip to the view tab. Click on "Reset all
folders".

I have the same issue so would be keen to find out if this suggestion has
worked for anyone else.

I'm concerned that I've spent time customising my Music and pictures folder
to display correctly, so don't want to have to go through that excerise
again.
