Customising stationery

I have purchased an electronic business card for sending with outgoing mail.
I go to tools-options and can see default stationery (and view it). When I
click onto Apply and then OK it does not retain settings and reverts back to
<none> in default stationery box.

Can anyone suggest what I am doing wrong ?
