custom wallpaper problems

I created a custom wallpaper using paint and applied it as my background in
the display properties. However, on the actual background, all that exists
is a white, blank screen. Does anybody have a suggestion on how to fix it?
Thanks in advance!

sometimes .bmp's are "very" large files. i bet your drawing was saved and is
very large. try converting it to a jpg and optimizing it so that it will be
a smaller size.....
when you optimize a jpg it will compress it to a memory happy size. "when
the computer is happy, so is the computer user" :)

oh yeh, don't forget to resize your pic too. check out your screen
resolution via your display settings to ensure the best size for your pic.
the white background you are seeing is probably a portion of your pice, like
a corner, because it doesn't entirely fit on your desktop...

also, have you checked out a freeware called paint.net ? i use a couple of
high end / expensive graphic softwares. but i was impressed with the
freeware. i havn't checked out all the features, but it may have the ability
to convert and resize your pic. check it out, i think you will like the
photoshop capabilities. the open source programmers and contributors have
done a very good job.....

P.S. I forgot to write that whenever I log off the whtie screen goes off and
it switches to the custom wallpaper and when I turn the computer on, I can
see the custom wallpaper and then the white screen pops up? what should I
do? Thanks in advance!
