Custom Template

I started with a blank slide and went into the master slide view. I changed
the background colour and then I went to Format - Slide Design. I clicked on
Colour Schemes and chose a scheme and applied it to the Master. I clicked on
Edit Colour Scheme and in the custom tab I changed the colours of the bar
graphs. I clicked apply. However, when I added a slide with a graph the
colour change was not there. Could anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? I am
using Powerpoint 2003.
