Custom paths in PowerPoint

When I draw a line and create a motion path to start at the beginning of the
line and end at the end of line, the motion path doesn't exactly follow the
path that I drew. In other words the path begins just before the line and
ends about 1/2 an inch after the line.

Hard to know without seeing the slide but motion paths on an object usually
default to applying to the centre of the object. This means that the centre
will end up at the end of the path which may account for the 1/2 inch?

Hope that makes sense
