I need to create a custom page number for my appendixes that will appear in
my table of contents as well. I need to have the appendix letter appear
before the page number. I have been working on this problem for a couple
hours, and it is alluding me. Any help would be great. Thanks

That particular article would not be helpful with regard to appendix
numbering. For that you need a combination of
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Numbering/ChapterNumber.htm and
http://www.ShaunaKelly.com/word/numbering/NumberingAppendixes.html. The
trick is that the only thing you can add to the page number and have it show
up in the TOC is the "chapter number," which must be the paragraph number of
an autonumbered heading in one of Word's nine built-in heading styles. The
number doesn't have to be displayed (it can be Hidden), but it must be
applied to the style. If the appendixes have headings such as Appendix A,
Appendix B, etc., however, then this is a relatively simple solution.
