Custom or conditional format to highlight today's date?

Using Excel 2002, I have all 365 days of the year listed in column B,
formatted as "03/14/01". When i open the workbook, I would like the
current date to be bold and red. Can I do this with a conditional
format?
I have tried =Today with no success.

Thanks

As a purely amateur user of excel - I only managed to do this by making
a1=Now() and then conditional formatting the dated cells as: Cell Value Is |
Equal to | =A1, I had to delete the quote marks that conditional formatting
put in - I stress I'm only an amateur!

I look forward to a professional solution.

Peter,

That works with the Today function for me, and is a good solution.
Thanks!! I am still wondering why my condtional format formula,
=Today , did not work.

I found out why my =Today conditionla format formula di dnot work. It
should have been =Today(). Even though no arguments are required. I
should have known better.

Thanks again,

in 2003 conditional formatting on column works with "cell value is" "equal
to" =today()
