Custom Installation Wizard

I have repackaged setuppro.exe for use with a custom MST, the MST have
set to be called from the setup.ini file in the setup folder. My issue
is that I have set outlook to use a default profile and to populate the
Outlook User name ase %username% the issue I have is that outlook can
not resolve %username%. I have tried instaling with and without the
setuppro.exe transforms=\\uncpath\mst /qb- and just using the setupro
/qb- both installs seem call the MST since the MST is in my ini file.

When I click Checkname I get an error saying:

'The Name could not be resolved. The name could not be matched to a
name in the address list'.

I am able to resolve the name when manually entered, and the defualt
profile does get created.

I have also tried changing my DNS sever, Windows Logon Server, and
accounts on 3 different exchange back end servers. I used the MS XP
office Resource kit to repackage Office 2003 (note SP2 has been
slipstreamed into this install)

Any Ideas?

Is this for all users or just some? Have you checked to see what the value of the username environment variable is on the problem users? Does the name resolve automatically when you enter it manually or do you have to choose from several similar names?

It is for all users.

I have tested the %username% in dos on 3 differnt pc's running XP and
2K both return the username just fine, and if I type in that username
that gets returned in DOS Outlook can resolve the name just fine.

To clarifiy in DOS I typed %username% which gives me my user name. If I
use that returned value in configuring the Outlook profile the name
resoves as it should.

I am not sure what you mean by:
Have you checked to see what the value of the username environment
variable is on the problem users?

If I check the environment varailables under systems managment...
%username% is not listed as a variable... at leat that I am not seeing.
However I can type %username% in DOS and get my username.

Where should it be, and what value should be assigned?

The %username% environment variable is assigned when the user logs into Windows. It is the user's Windows login name.
On other note my AD Forest name and Login Domainname are two different
domains

I'll see if some Exchange experts can explain whether that's part of the problem. I can't think of any explanation for the behavior you're seeing.
