custom dictionary limitations?

I have a text file with about 11,000 medical terms. I would like to add
these to the custom dictionary used by powerpoint. I recall that there are
issues with this: there may be a limit to the number of words in a custom
dictionary, etc, etc. So before I actually attempt this I though I would
ask the group - what are the pitfalls in adding this many words to the
dictionary?

It should work, as far as I know there is no limit to the amount of words
you can add.
The custom dictionary is just a list of words, so open the custom.dic file
and paste in your words.
As it is a shared resource you will have to do it in Word.
Tools - Options - Spelling tab - Click Custom Dictionaries - click on
custom.dic - click on change and paste your words in.
