Custom Color Palettes

How can I lock in my custom colors used in a document, so that when I e-mail
someone the document, they will see the same custom colors that I used
(rather than the default colors)?

hi
custom color(or any customazation for that matter) applies to the machine
only not the document. the other machines will have to be customized before
they will display the custom colors. do not confuse customization with
formating such as fonts. unless it a imported custom font that the other
machine doesn't have.

Custom colors are saved with the workbook only and are not a global setting.

These modifications should be retained when sending the workbook by email.

Gord,
The modifications are not changed when I send it by e-mail. For instance, I
created an attendance tracking spreadsheet at work and wanted to shade some
of the cells in the worksheet a shade of grey that was lighter than the one
automatically shown in the colors palette. So, I changed one of the colors in
the palette that I never use (the light pink color) to the light shade of
grey that I wanted. When I e-mailed the worksheet, however, the shading that
is shown for those cells on the recipient's computer is the light pink color.
I only became aware of it because the person I e-mailed it to wanted to know
why on earth I had shaded those cells in pink (it made the whole worksheet
look awful)! I just thought that there may be a way to lock in the settings
into a document, but I guess not. Darn!

Hi Lara,
The modifications are saved with the workbook, as Gord indicated.
You indicated you emailed the worksheet perhaps the problem lies
in the separation from the workbook. Was that emailed via Excel
menus. Try attaching the entire workbook and see what happens.

If they don't need the actual Excel worksheet possibly you could
copy from the Excel worksheet and paste into your (rich text formatted)
mail message.
