Custom chart type templates in PowerPoint 2007

In PowerPoint 2007 I can create chart templates for my custom chart
types (crtx files).

As these chart templates are also available in Excel, I would not like
to set a default font size. It would be great if a custom chart had the
same behavior as a built-in chart type (if you insert it in Excel the
font size is set to 10, in PowerPoint to 18). This behavior is very
reasonable.

Can this be done? I even tried manually edit the XML coding but did not
succeed.

Right now I would have to create two custom chart templates for one
chart type (one for use in Excel, one for use in PowerPoint). For users
this might be rather confusing.

Thanks for any hints!

My understanding is that, in chart templates in Office 2007, the formatting
is what it is -- it's not relative, it's absolute. What I mean is that font
faces, font sizes, colors, effects, etc., do not respond to changes in the
theme -- color scheme, theme font, effects, etc.

So I think there's probably not a way to do what you're asking. Chart
templates are a great idea, but they're not really very useable yet. I hope
they get better in the next version.
