Cursor Shape Altered - How do I Reverse it?

A friend of my sons' did something to the computer that
changed the cursor from the standard vertical line to a
black box that's about three characters in width.

How do I "undo" this and return to the standard cursor?

Thanks for any help you can provide.
 
Goto Control Panel>>Mouse>>Pointers Tab

From there you should be able to change them

control panel \ accessibility settings \ display
You'll find sliders to adjust the cursor width and the blink rate.
Apply and okay your way out, reboot.
