When in Quicken, my cursor moves to the beginning of the line every 5-10 seconds. I have reloaded the program with no help. This happens after the computer has been on for 10-15 minutes. Do you think I have a bad component on my motherboard? I have tried a different mouse with the same results. I also notice a slight flicker on my screen every 5-10 seconds. Please help!!

As Quicken isn't part of XP I am only guessing as to what is causing your issue. Either look at the mouse settings in the conrtol panel or look at the configuration settings in Quicken for an option called "Smart Move" and uncheck it if selected. Either way this is definately a setup or configuration issue. Good luck. {:~)

If the problem does not occur with other programs (only Quicken), then
it probably isn't hardware (your motherboard). Quicken has an online
updater (and other online components) that run unnoticed in the
background and can be very invasive. Check if something like that is
running by using Quicken preferences and XP's System Configuration
utility (Start>Run>msconfig). If you have the slight flicker on your
screen for *all* programs, try 1) updating your video card drivers from
the card mftr.'s website; 2) check that your refresh rate/resolution
isn't set too high for your monitor.

Without more information about your computer specs and how you are
connecting to the Internet, it isn't possible to be more specific.
Please repost with more information if you'd like more help.
