cursor jumping randomly while typing

this is a new toshiba laptop running windows xp home. in
any application i'm in, (could be wordperfect, word, msn
messenger, or even this) my cursor jumps - at random
times - while i am typing, to some position on the page
other than to the next space. any ideas?

i'm using a wireless mouse; not the touch pads.

your touchpad is still active and you are brushing it while typing.. This moves the cursor all over the place... either watch your hands, or disable the touchpad
Sure...stop giving it soda a candy bars :)
