when I am typing an email message the cursor will junp to a previous line or
a few spaces back, making sending email a real task. any info?

In my case, I am new to laptops, and my palm was occasionally touching
touchpad when I typed. Solved by disabling touchpad when I type
(simultaneously press FN and F9 keys).

Most laptop touchpad drivers have a setting to disable the
touchpad while typing.

-- I also have the same problem cursor jumping contantly whilst typing on my
lap top, it is not becuase I am touching the touchpad at all, I make sure
that this is not being touched, but I still get the problem, does anyone have
the answer, it drives me crazy.
..

I keep trying to reply but"Postmaster says 'No".

It is to do with auto checking for mail when the cursor goes missing. I
reduced check for mail frequency.
