Cursor in Windows XP moves by itself

I have a laptop with Windows XP Home installed. From time to time my cursor comes into life of its own: it slides across/up or down the screen and comes to rest at the edge or in the corner of the screen while resisting control from the touch pad. Rebooting usually clears the problem until the next time. Any advice? Many thanks, Alexei
 
Yeah, mine does the same when I put my hands near the l/r click pad. I often get a notice that the DRIVER is experiencing difficulties Check if there is an updated driver available.
