cursor follows mouse pointer

My cursor jumps all by itself to wherever the mouse pointer is. It does this
after typing a few characters.

I'm typing a line. The cursor is of course at the text entry point. Then
BANG, the cursor jumps to where the mouse pointer is without ever touching
the mouse!

Does anyone know why the cursor seems intent on following the mouse pointer
location? This is very aggrevating!!

This sounds like a hardware or driver issue totally unrelated to Access.
