Curser position on blank docs in Word 2003

I have recently installed MS Word 2003.

When I open a blank document I now find the curser at the top of the
page and the page very shortened.

If I go to Show Headers and Hooters and then return to normal view the
curser returns to the proper position, i.e. the top margin is showing.

I have to do this on every blank doc I open. It has only just started
to do this.

Is there any way to show the page with the top margin always showing on
the screeen?

Tools > Options > View > check "White space between pages".
