ctrl + enter does not work

On my HP Pavilion ze5200 laptop, with XP Professional and
IE 6.0 (all updates completed) I am unable to use the
simple shortcut of ctrl + enter. I have become quite
used to this for shortcut for quickly entering websites,
but this function has not worked since I bought the
machine in April 2003.

I would be greatly abliged if anyone could identify the
fix for this.

To make that work I have found that you need to
enable "Use inline AutoComplete for Web Addresses" found
in Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab > Browsing
section. You may also have to select the option "Do not
search from the address bar" (further down on the advanced
screen, for this to work without other suggested matches
popping up under your address bar. However, you do NOT
have to fully enable AutoComplete in any other way (as
offered on the Content tab).

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

The "Use inline AutoComplete for Web Addresses" did the
job. I had reviewed the Advanced tab, but had not
identified this line as the issue. I am also still able
to search from the address bar (even with it set to use
Google).
