on my second profile, "ctrl a" does not function anymore in all programms.
others shortcuts still work.
I updated my keyboard drivers, but made no change.
does anyone know where the problem could be? it must be in windows xp.

Could be 3rd party software you installed. Have you undone any of he
changes made between the time things worked and now? Did you try a system
restore to a date before the problem occurred?
