CSS font appearance vanishes in Design mode

I have a site/pages using a linked *.css style file. All the styles
are essentially paragraph styles setting fonts, colors, and b/a
spacing. I apply them through the drop down, it all works fine. Save
the page. Looking good...

The next time I open the page, all the styles are still working fine.
However, if I make even a _single_ change in Code View, the style's
appearance (font, spacing, size, ) disappears in Design view. That is,
the style itself is still there, but it does not change the look of
the text or paragraph.

If I look in Preview mode it's still working, but back in Design mode,
it's gone. Even saving and re-opening the file does not fix it
although exiting and re-opening the site will.

Suggestions ?

Close FrontPage. Find and delete all files named *.web and *.tmp and then
clear the browser temporary internet and history files.

Reopen FrontPage and see if it is fixed.

It often happens to me that styles do not show up in design mode, but they
do in preview mode, so I don't worry about it. I know that they are there.
You'll get used to it.

I find that saving the page (not closing it) then hitting the F5 key
restores the style sheet function in design mode.
