I am using an Athlon XP 1800+ with i GB of RAM. crss.exe
hovers around 4 MB at all times. I'm sure you tried the

I hope someone has run across the solution to this
problem, as I've had no luck trying to fix it. Whenever I
cause an event that requires some significant screen
redraw, or I've moved the pointer a lot, csrss.exe shoots
to about 95 - 99% CPU usage and my machine hangs for about
4 to 5 seconds. This isn't a debilitating problem, but
has been vexing me for several months. I'm running WinXP
Pro on an AMD processor running at 900 MHz with a GForce
FX 5200 with 128 MB, and I didn't have this issue with the
same setup running on a PIII running at 450 MHz with a
GForce 4200 MMX with 64 MB. I've scanned for viruses and
spyware, not finding any, and have turned off virtually
every non essential service trying to resolve this
problem. The following is a list of the programs

Any help would be appreciated. I've done a reformat and
reinstall, but that didn't seem to help. I'm reaching my
wits end, and really don't want to have to switch to
another OS, but at this point I'm about ready.
