I cant seem to download the kb 83 download due to a
cryptographic. is asks it it is running on windows xp set
up could not verify>??? i need to download the patch as
it pretains to the sasser worm i thank any help for the
computor as i need as much as possible thanks

Hi Rich,

Open Windows Explorer to C:\Windows\system32, right-click/rename the
catroot2 folder to catold. Then retry the update installation. When
finished, there will be a new catroot2 folder and you can safely delete the
old renamed one.

Rename the folder windows\system32\catroot2 and reboot. That will
generate a new, clean folder, and you can then delete the renamed one.

Then get - only - Q817287 and install it, which should now be OK. It
is the cure for the problem: you should then be able to carry on with
other updates, and the problem will not recur
