Does anyone know if Sandisk Cruzer Micro flash drive is Microsoft approved
for 'windows xp home edition'? They have a microsoft 'designed for' logo on
the back of the package. I get a warning about installing the software while
trying to use it. The logo gave me the thought to 'continue' anyway.

You shouldn't even need their software to use the flash drive, I'd think.
What happens if you just plug it in and let Plug&Play detect it as a generic
flash drive?

I don't know what their software does (encryption, maybe?) but you might
check their website for support, if you truly need it.

Which software??? The drivers are already built-in to XP so you do not have
to install any drivers.

To use the drive, just plug it in, winxp will automatically detect it.
I've not used the supplied software. Read about what it is and see if
you want it. I believe the basic security feature is free but limited.
The other stuff uses the term 'trial', so if you want it you'll probably
have to pay.

You don't need it at all. It's just a lame file manager.

It's a USB memory stick. They're not designed with any particular OS in
mind. Any OS that has USB storage support will be able to handle it just
fine, Windows or otherwise.
