Think this has been asked before

i got some crucial memory from ebuyer about 9 months ago

what is the warranty length on crucial memory? would it be a waste of time
attempting to RMA it so long after order?

TIA

It's not lifetime when an aftermarket part, some are only 1
year. To answer OP's question, no it wouldn't be a waste of
time to "try" to RMA it. It would however be a waste of
time to contact ebuyer at this point.

I've always had a problem with 'lifetime' warranties - I mean your idea of
lifetime, my idea of lifetime and Crucial's idea of lifetime are (probably)
not going to be one and the same. I mean I couldn't call them about some RAM
I have in a 12-year-old box, which I know is definitely dead, and expect
them to hold good, now could I?

It depends on the wording of the warranty, but in theory, yes.

Their site has a blurb about market value... monetary
compensation I suppose.

If you sent them those (SIMMs?) they might send you 5
shillings?

What's market value?

Have you looked at the cost to get EDO RAM new today?

That would be replacement value rather than market value.
I did just look at the cost of a new 32MB EDO SIMM though,
is uner $10 at several places... though I didn't look at
Crucial, it wouldn't surprise me if it were significantly
more there.
