Cross-referencing between docs

Hi
I normally use Framemaker for professional docs, but I have to use Word 2003
(also Acrobat 6) for this project, so I would like some advice, please. From
what I have read by searching here on PDF, I might not be able to do what I
would like to do, but here goes.

One word document (DocA) makes many references to another word doc (DocB). I
am thinking that the easiest way to do this is to write DocA and keep it as a
word file, make the crossrefs to DocB, then PDF DocB and somehow embed it
with DocA, so that anyone who opens DocA from a server as a Word file and
clicks on a cross reference to DocB will fire up the DocB PDF at the cross
reference.

Is this feasible? Is there a better way, please?
Thanks
Phil

You may want to read through this article:
http://www.mousetrax.com/mastdoc.html. I think that once you have
your links setup properly, that PDFMaker should build the links for
you automatically. (I use Acrobat 7). I found Acrobat 6 a little too
unstable for my taste.
