Critical Vista security update released today

kb 953155 appears today on all my Vista machines. No idea why, but it is
critical, and involves remote code execution, so I'm installing it asap.

There's a second update as well, rated as "important."

This is via WindowsUpdate on Vista.

No equivalents for XP or Server 2003.

Yes, I had the same, on Vista. Do you think it is the after effects
(secondary shock wave) of last weeks vulnerability?

I haven't seen any discussion of it at all--and looking at it last night, it
does not seem to be labelled critical--so I need to figure out where I saw
that.

I haven't had time to investigate it further--this stuff doesn't just pop
up--it has been weeks to months in production and testing--but why this
particular release timing I've no idea at all.
