Critical updates install question ?????

I recently did a clean install of xp pro. Trying to get all the critical updates. After I install the critical updates it says install complete. However if I restart computer and go to the updates page it says I still need them Can anyone please hekp!

Check the "Install History" to make sure that all the installs worked and
none had failed. Other then that, I would delete the cache and cookies and
try it again.

Possible solutions:

1 - Delete or rename the folder c:\windows\system32\catroot2

Then do the updates again.



2 - Start/stop the auto-update service.

Start, control panel, administrative tools, services, right click automatic
updates, click stop. Right click again, click start.
