Critical Error 103 under Windows 2000

M

Melvin Klassen

Yesterday, I downloaded the newest version and installed
it. When I try to start it, I get a spelling mistake
amidst an unhelpful error-message:

Warning: Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware has encountered a
critical error (Error 103).
Please restart Widnows [sic] AntiSpyware and run the
program again.
If you continue to experience this problem, please
uninstall the program
and install the most recent version of Windows AntiSpyware.
You can use Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel to
uninstall this version
of Windows AntiSpyware.

My computer is a fully-patched, never-infected, Windows
2000 system, with Computer Associates eTrust EZ AntiVirus.

Yes, I logged-on as 'Administrator' to install it.

Yes, I've tried relaunching it.

Yes, I've tried uninstalling, rebooting, and reinstalling.

A price of "free" seems just about correct, beta software
or not!

All suggestions are welcome!

Can you try "regsvr32 gcASThreatAudit.dll" from the application directory
from a command prompt? The misspelling has been noted.

thx

Folks,
I am having the exact problem as described below. I have
tried rebooting, uninstalling, re-install, installing in
different location, checked for misspelled dlls etc.
Anything else I can do to get around this problem?
Any help is greatly appreciated and email to
(e-mail address removed) and/or (e-mail address removed)

Are you able to see Jeff Dillon's reply to the original post?

If you are using a Mozilla-based browser, you may need to use the Expand All
link to see replies, I'm afraid.
