Hey guys,
awesome forum. My computer is running XP now (used to be 98) and I have a
Creative webcam Go plus for it. Since i switched to XP is hasnt worked. I
reinstalled the software and when I fire up the camera (usb connected) no
green light on the cam-- just red. Its like I can physically take pics(cam
unattached to computer) , but I can't load them from the camera. Also, live
feed does not work, so the camera is hooked up but no image, cant take pics
from the control monitor on the desktop. So i went to creative's website and
downloaded the files-- monitor, and the updated driver
WebCamGoPlusDrvsV1_04.EXE, WebCamGoControlV1_38.EXE, and
wcmonitor_2_06_04.exe replacing my old files. All installs, but the driver
doesnt! it gives me an error message of "an error has occured while setting
up the driver" HELP!!
Also, a friend has the same computer basically , and he downloaded the same
files and it worked for him with my cam. However, he can use yahoo messenger
and get the cam to work, but cannot use creative's software and get it to
work without yahoo messenger.

Need help asap,
thanks in advance,
Al

Try removing the camera using Device Manager. Shut down. Start up and run
the installation again. When I have to install my Creative Webcam for
whatever reason, I have to unplug it, reboot, install the software, shut
down and plug it in then start up again.

ive tried alot of things, and restarting is one thing ive done. I can install
the control, monitor but not the drivers. Gives me the "an error has occured
while setting up the driver" and closes the installation. I dont know what to
do since my oringially CD is at home. It should be able to run on the three
files availiable on the website (creative) unless you might have a copy of
the software I can use.

Thanks
Al

using msconfig.untick all your start up files and non ms services and try
installing the
drivers again.
