Creating Video Clips for PPT use

How do you create your video clips? I would like to insert
some very simple cartoon schematic videos but can't figure
out how to do it.

Ben,

You will need some other software, apart from powerpoint, to create the
animated videos

You could start simple with some basic cell animation MS GIF Animator (free
me thinks)

And progress onto some full blown 3d app
