creating stationery in outlook 2003

Helen

Hi everyone,

Apologies if my question is sooo basic no-one needs to ask it anymore! I
need to create some stationery that includes company logo and address
details. I have good word skills but no web development...I've been into the
Mail format dialog, Stationery picker, New command. This does not give me
the options that i need, eg. specifying RGB for font colours, inserting
lines etc.

From my searching so far, I'm thinking I need to maybe build the page in
Word and save the file in HTML format, then get it into the stationery
folder?? Can anyone point me to a good "how-to" site? I've searched and have
found many references - people allude to the possibilities but I need actual
steps to follow.

Thanks in advance for any help, I am forever grateful to you kind folk who
give to these forums.

You might start with http://www.slipstick.com/mail1/html.htm#howto...Method 1
and Method 2 would allow you to easily save your HTML stationery for later
use. Method 3 might work if you save a copy of your message (before adding
message-specific information to it) as an Outlook Template file so that it
too could be reused.

Hi Jocelyn,

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. I have done as you
suggested, thankyou, that site is very informative! I need to ask another
question now. :)

I have tried Method 2. I created the document with logo etc. in Word and
sent myself an email from Word according to Method 2. Having received and
opened the message in Outlook, I then used the File, Save Stationery command
to save my message as stationery. I went into Tools, Options, Mail format
and selected it from the list using the stationery picker ( I was very happy
to see it there :) ). Clicked Apply, OK etc. went back out and clicked new
message, and nothing there! Just my usual signature as always. No
stationery. I closed Outlook and reopened, checked that the stationery still
showed as selected, but still no luck seeing it in a new message.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance...

Best regards,

Helen

Have you followed these steps as well (taken from
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HP052427131033.aspx)?

- Set the default stationery for all new messages you create

1) From the main Outlook window, on the Tools menu, click Options, and then
click the Mail Format tab.
2) In the Compose in this message format list, click HTML.
3) In the Use this stationery by default list, click the stationery you want.
