I used Outlook 2002 and Windows XP Home. Often I start Outlook and it does
not automatically send and receive. When I attempt to do so manually, I
receive the message "The error failed." The only solution I have found so far
is to reinstall Outlook. However, I am now told that the problem could be a
corrupt profile. So I click control panel / mail/ show profiles/ add new
profile all in an attempt to create a new profile to replace the possibly
corrupt profile. However, when I click on add for a new profile, nothing
happens? I assume some sort of new profile wizard window should open? Why
would it not open? Is this a reasonable fix for my send/receive problem?
Thanks.
