Creating and running a PPT on a widescreen TV

I want to create a ppt for displaying on a 42" LCD HD TV. Here's the
problem(s):

1) I created my presentation by setting the ppt page set up to 16 in x 9 in.

2) I fomated my images to 16" x 9" at 72 dpi PNG.

3) I tried PPT2DVD demo. The transitions, size, animations all work fine.
but the images are poor and they flickered. I tried three different cable
hookup types and all had poor quality.

4) I heard mixed reviews on PPT2DVD so I tried another program called
PowerVideoMaker. Same results - poor quality - lots of flicker.

Q: . Is poor image quality the best I can expect when converting PPT to MPEG
video?

Q: Should I have sized my images to the acutal size of the screen - 42"x29??

At this point I figured I would use my laptop and hook it up to the TV. The
images and fonts looked great, but I could not get the presentation to fill
the screen.

I played with the display Properties Settings on the Lap tip but could not
find a size that matched the screen.

Q: What are my options here - I want to ustilize the whole screen seeing I
paid for it.

Q: Do I need a newer graphics card that allows me to match the TV ratio?

Hi Hortusthird,
I'm Mark from Wondershare Software-- the PPT2DVD developer.
In order to solve the flickers problem, please try the following
solutions.

1. Reset the dimension of slides in your presentation under PowerPoint
(Please be careful with the unit of dimension you use):
TV Standard: PAL
For wide screen (16:9), Width: 27.09cm (10.67inch); Height 15.24cm
(6.00inch)
For regular screen (4:3), Width: 20.32cm (8.00inch); Height: 15.24cm
(6.00inch)

TV Standard: NTSC
For wide screen (16:9), Width: 22.54cm (8.88inch); Height 12.70cm
(5.00inch)
For regular screen (4:3), Width: 16.93cm (6.67inch); Height: 12.70cm
(5.00inch)

2. Adjust the video quality to heighest level. The descriptions of
related operations are shown below.
1) Start PPT2DVD, forward to Settings step.
2) Click on DVD Settings ..., and then from Quality Control tab,
choose Very High from Quality drop-down list.

If your problem can't solved yet. Please contact us for a newest beta
version of PPT2DVD, which has improved the video quality a lot.
