Creating an unattended installation with Win XP SP 3

I have done a lot of searching on several sites for an answer to this
issue/puzzle and hope that this is the correct place to ask this question.
First, though, some information...

I have used both the Windows XP deployment kit and the NLite unattended
install creation software to build a CD of Windows XP with SP 3 and all
hotfixes slipstreamed in. The software installs perfectly well, but the final
boot brings me to a logon screen that tells me that my provided profile
account doesn't exist. The name of the profile account is in the Username
block, but the password block is empty, though that was provided in the
answer file as well. A reboot does nothing to help this situation in the
slightest.

My question is... Is this a known bug or is it possible that some of the
settings that I selected in NLite or Setupmgr preventing the account from
being created? I'm not a dyed in the wool programmer, just an armchair hacker
trying to make things better at work. Any assistance with this would truly be
appreciated.
