Creating an index in power point

Hi,
I use power point to make trainment materials, so I have many files .ppt.
When I need to print this files (usually 2 slides per page or as
annotations), the page numeration always starts from 1, making impossible to
have an index of contents when I deliver this files as a "book" or "brochure".
Would it be a way of having a multiple power point files index? I know that
in Microsoft Word I could do that, using programming fields, but it doesn't
work if your files are not .doc. Is there any other way that I'm not
considering?
Thanks

There are a few ways to work around this, Daniela.

You could ...

.... send the files to Word and do the page formatting there. Word is better
at print formatting than PowerPoint (as one would expect). You could use
the native Send To Word function in PowerPoint (File => Send => To MS Word)
or my SlideIntoWord add-in (demo at
http://billdilworth.mvps.org/SlideIntoWord.htm)

.... Remove the page numbering text from the handout printouts and re-run
them thru the printer (using Word or Publisher) to add the page numbers
after the pages are all compiled and arranged.

.... Create you own page numbering macro and turn off PowerPoint's auto page
numbering. Depending on the version of PowerPoint, this may range from 'a
bit complicated' to 'impossible'

and I think Word has a booklet printing or imposition option somewhere,
which sounds as if it would help in this case.
