creating an appointment diary

J

jack

i am doing a college project using Access. I am setting
up an practice management system for my dad's podiatry
clinic. I want to include an appointment diary (a table
with dates, days of the week, times of day) into which
can be entered patients' names. It doesn't really seem
possible to do, but i have limited access experience,
without massive amounts of data entry (all the different
dates, days, times etc). is there an easy way of doing
this without using a spreadsheet (part of the criteria is
using only access)

cheers for any help.

Rule #1 The way records stored and the way they are displayed are not
necessarily related.
Beyond that, I hate to point you directly to a sample calendar report on the
web that uses only Access. It might be too easy for you.

Can you come back with more specific problem areas and possibly your table
structure?

It is possible to do: but it is not going to be a trivial exercise, and if
your father's income depends on it (not to mention his patients' feet) then
you may want to think whether it is an appropriate learning exercise.

Whose criterion?

Have you thought about using MS Outlook, Act!, TimeAndMotion (not sure
about that one), or any one of a hundred commercial products that are
already developed and on the market? What you spend on the software will
almost certainly pay itself back in your time and in legal fees.

Just a thought
