I have a document that is 12.5 x 18.5 and I need to make a pdf of it at 100%.
I am going through the print window to create this pdf and no matter what I
do it comes out 8.5 x 11". I can work with this but it seems like there
should be a way to make the pdf at 100%. Any advice would be much
appreciated.

thanks

Much depends on your PDF software, but certainly with Acrobat 8, you can
define the custom page size in the Adobe PDF printer driver. Set the active
printer in Word to Adobe PDF, then setup the page size in your Word
document. Using the Acrobat add-in to create the PDF, the PDF will be
created at your required size.

I have Acrobat 7 but created a new PDF Settings file that specified the size
of my document and still when I make the pdf it comes out 8.5x11. Any other
ideas?

The functionality of Acrobat 7 and 8 is very similar - and the dialogs are
virtually identical (shown at
http://www.gmayor.com/individual_merge_letters.htm ) You only need setup the
12x15 paper size as a new custom size in the Adobe printer properties for it
to be available to be used by Word. You don't have to change any other
settings - including the default paper size.

However you *must have the Adobe PDF driver set as the active printer*
before you can set the Word document to use the custom page size you have
created in and available from Acrobat. Word will only allow page sizes that
the current printer driver is capable of printing. If the driver has the
page size added, you should be able to pick it from the Page Setup dialog.
If you can do that (and you certainly can with Acrobat 8) in either Word
2003 or 2007, then if you use the create PDF function from the Acrobat
add-in to Word, the PDF will reflect that size.
