Created Workgroup- Unable to Log on

I was changing my work issued laptop, running HP to
access my home network (WORKGROUP). When the computer
was rebooted to accept the changes, I am no longer able
to log on. Password is coming up invalid. I know it's
the correct password. Can I boot from DOS or something
and change it back? Any ideas?
