Created distribution list but can't insert in"to" line

Not even sure this is going to the right group - but here is the question: I
cannot get the automatic prompt of full name of distribution list, cannot
click and drag it into "To" line (it jumps into attachments)..watemi doing
wrong? Tnx rp
