Created date is later than Modified date in properties

I was looking at the properties of a word document and the Create date is May
07, 2009 but the Modified date is March 31, 2009. How can that be?

One possibility is that the system clock was incorrect at the time the
document was created. Another is that the system clock was incorrect when
the file was modified.

That information is provided & determined by the operating system, not by
the program being used.

It does not necessarely have something to do with the system clock being
incorrect.

If you create a copy of an existing file, its creation date will be the date
the copy was created while the last modified date will be the same as the
last modified date of the original file.
