Logic tells me that what I want to perform should not really be an issue,
but I thought I would check with you guys first.
I use WinXP SP2 HOME on my C drive (which is on SATA 1). I plan on buying
another SATA drive onto which I intend installing my old Win98SE OS together
with all the apps (games mostly) that do not run on XP. As 98 is no longer
supported, I will be running the OS with my firewall set to block all
internet traffic when booted into Win98 SE.
Obviously, I will need a boot manager (which I presume will be placed on
Drive C) to decide which OS to boot up.
As the respective operating systems will be on two physically different
discs will there be any problems that anyone can foresee with what I propose
to do? The XP drive with be NTFS and the 98 drive will be FAT32.
The only issue I can see so far is that I will have to update any software
using the XP disc to download the updates and then copy them to the 98 disc
to be installed. This is a relatively minor issue as far as I am concerned.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
